One last get away

Before the summer ended and school began we wanted to go on one last get away. We have been wanting to go and visit Grandma and Grandpa in Idaho for the longest time, we finally made it up there and we had such a great time!
I was really nervous for the drive because we had to keep three little boys happy for 5 hours...I prepared little bags to give to them every hour, they were filled with treats, toys, magnets, coloring pages, and crayons....in the end they opened one on the way there, made a huge mess, slept and then watched a movie (thank you to Alisa and Jerry for the player!) But really, they did so incredibly well, we were especially pleased with how well Levi did, just give him milk and food and he's happy!!Grandpa put Corbin right to work the next morning, Corbin was so thrilled because he got to use scissors and cut the veggies out of the garden. Grandpa has got the best garden, the produce is so delicious and his tomatoes were HUGE...he is a true farmer. I get discouraged with our garden sometimes (although we are really enjoying it) and Grandpa says he has been doing it for years and it just takes time, he has learned lots over the many years of doing this.

I would have to say the best part of this vacation was Grandma's cooking! Every meal is like Thanksgiving and it is so good. They cook a lot with the food from their garden...we had cucumbers and tomatoes with almost every meal....yum!

FISHING

This is the first time the boys and I have been fishing. I have to admitt that I am not a good fisherwoman...I feel bad for the fish, I feel bad for the worms and grasshoppers; that is probably why I didn't actaully catch any. I did get a few bites, but then they got away. Luckily it was a catch and release pond, although one did die, it was sad watching it float there after seeing it swim around moments before. Errr, I'm such a girl!
Justin caught 5 fish and grandpa caught a bunch! Even the boys each got to reel in some fish!

Corbin is the only one who fishes in his underwear...
...and this is why! While Corbin was waiting for Justin to catch a fish, he got undressed and jumped right in! Poor fish...
Poor worm...

GRANDPA'S FARM

Taylor couldn't be any happier, he still just LOVES horses! I love this picture, it looks like the horse is going in for a kiss.
Happy boy!
Justin told the boys lots of stories of when he worked on the farm with Grandpa, this was always a tricky job...the cow squeeze. It was a little easier getting the boys in it.
Our Sweet Tay.
Handsome Corbs.Little Levi.
Taylor loved this tractor, he kept wanting to run back to it...
In the evenings after we put the boys to bed we got to enjoy playing cards with Grandma and Grandpa, that is our favorite thing to do with them!!

THANKYOU Grandma and Grandpa!! We had a wonderful time!!!
