our weekend

We had a very full weekend, in fact our whole week has been pretty full, but that's just where we are in life right now.

Friday we had our ward trunk-or-treat and it felt so good to be together as a ward (we've had a REALLY hard couple of weeks, but I am so grateful for how we have come together during this time)   I have been begging my family to do some kind of family costumes, and no one was digging it. But somehow earlier in the week, Levi had the idea that we should be the days of the week. Yes! We decided to add an emoji to fully express how we feel about each day. :)  It was very well received at the party!

Saturday we headed north to my brothers new property for a Packer Halloween party. The kids were in heaven! So much space to run around and adventure in with lots of their favorite people! It was so fun to catch up with family!

Sunday we woke up to a few flurries and it just made most of us so happy. We turned on Christmas hymns and that just made things even better. Our ward had a special meeting for all adults and we called in members from our stake to come help out in primary. Mandi is AMAZING and played the piano for singing time. The kids loved hearing that she is my sister! ❤ We were enjoying black and white this day.

Justin's parents stopped by for a little to bring Adeline a birthday card. Justin was able to give his dad a blessing before a big surgery he has coming up on Halloween!! We had treat night with our friends and it was a pumpkin/chocolate kind of night, so good! Also, the swelling on my face is like an accordion...one day I feel like myself again, the next day it swells right back up. I can't wait for my jaw to fully heal!!

P.S. I have SO SO much to catch up on, but I keep getting so far behind, so I need to move forward, but I'll continue to add more posts from the rest of 2019 because....summer was good!

Halloween 2018

Halloween was a pretty awesome. It wasn't until I was taking their annual picture that I realized the boys all had costumes that covered their faces. Oh goodness! But they were all so excited about their costumes, so that's happy :)

Corbin used his money to buy a mask online. I'm not sure what he really is, but he loved it. Taylor was a shadow (Inspired from the book 'Peter and the Shadow Thief' - Ombra is the character). Levi just wanted a cool cape. It took forever for him to decide what he really wanted to be, so the night before Halloween we sewed this up, you can tell. :)  Rudger had his mind made up the earliest, he was so excited to be a ghost. Adeline was a classic princess, no surprise there.

For Halloween day, Adeline and I went to see Levi and Rudger at their Halloween parade. It was so fun seeing those two brothers, neighborhood kids, and primary kids throughout the parade! ♥ We helped with Rudger's class party ♥ We came home and made the cutest ghost cookies that I saw on my new favorite holiday Instagram account. ♥ We took Halloween pictures! ♥ We had Justin's sister and her family over for a Halloween dinner. ♥ Then Corbin went trick or treating with his 2nd cousin for a few minutes and then met up with some friends. Taylor and Levi went with their cousins! And the rest of us went around the neighborhood and had a great time!

:: the lipstick she put on and that face!! ::

When Adeline and I walked up to this house, she saw all these statues on the porch and as she was walking closer she said "Oh so cute"!! But as soon as we were right next to them her eyes got wide and she slowly backed up. Definitely not her favorites :)

witch scavenger hunt

The kids had a day off from school for teacher prep day. It had been years since we made our way to Gardner village. So I was determined to make it happen this year. Most of the kids were on board, one was really not wanting to go at all (and it wasn't our oldest), but he mostly managed. We even took a friend with us. We went on the scavenger hunt to find all the witches and they did it. So we took our papers to the bakery and each of the kids got a snickerdoodle and we headed back home. (actually we first stopped by Trader Joes to get the seasonal almond danish, yum!)

daddy's work halloween party

This summer, Justin's work cancelled the usual barbecue party. We were all super sad about it because it was one of our favorite days. Instead they decided to put more energy (and money) towards the Halloween party. It was totally worth it! They had tons of food trucks to choose from for dinner, donuts, soda, popcorn, cotton candy, trick or treating, and then a pumpkin to take home. Adeline got to meet Elsa and Cinderella, so she was pretty much in heaven.
