Justin was talking to his parents on Thursday about how fun it would be to go camping together and 24 hours later we were senting up a couple of tents at Shady Acres.
With grandpa going through chemo and grandma being his caretaker, it was the perfect getaway for them (and us!). We really enjoyed our tinfoil dinners, roasted marshmallows, and conversations.
In the morning the kids loved playing on the playground, exploring, and shooting BB guns (which was given to us by grandpa). One of our favorite things to do while camping is to have a big breakfast. So that's just what we did.
On our way home, grandma and grandpa treated us to some lunch. We always love going out to eat with our grandparents!

McCammons - Day 6 + Day 7
Our days together were coming to an end. We decided to go swimming one of the days and had a blast. The slides and diving boards were definitely the favorite!
On the last day we all met up at Chuck-A-Rama's (because as a Morris, that is what you do!) and stuffed ourselves full. Then sadly drove the McCammons to the airport. There were some sad kids, but I told them that we were so lucky to have had such a memorable week. For many days after, Adeline kept saying she wanted her friend Skye to come and play with her. ♥♥
:: two-thirds of the original Morris Family + oddly enough, I was sad to throw all these cups away that had been out on the counter for a week ::
:: Morris cousins from tallest to shortest (and also oldest to youngest) ♥♥♥

McCammons - Day 4
Pineview Reservoir for Kayaking + Ballet lessons from Adeline (where she told Jordan he looked weird doing ballet...hahahaha) + The Greatest Showman (it felt good to just sit down and do nothing for a few hours)

McCammons - Day 3
We used to play frisbee every week for years with the McCammons and some of our friends. Soooo, we had to get a game in while they were here. It was so fun to have those kids, who spent many many hours playing with grandma at the park while we played frisbee, play the game with us. We also played soccer (which is THEIR sport) and kick the can.
Later we met grandma and grandpa up the canyon for a hot dog roast. It was beautiful weather . Lots of fun sitting around the campfire, playing in the mountains, and throwing rocks in the stream.
Later that night, we had the BEST time playing fugitive in our neighborhood...seriously, the best time! We felt like really irresponsible parents when we were running around at almost midnight with all the kids, woops. But really, I don't regret it. It was SO memorable. And watching those older cousins pair up with their younger cousins and take such good care of them while running, hiding, dodging those who were the 'cops' (we took turns at adults riding bikes and pulling the two younger ones in the bike trailer while they slept...again, woops) was so special.
And of course, some of the best memories never have a chance at getting their picture taken.
It was a good day!
