Three BIG boys

I can't get over how BIG our boys are getting....

Levi turned 1...so BIG!!! I cannot get over that he is already one...where has the time gone. But yet, it seems like forever ago that he was laying in the bassinett in our bedroom, giving us his first smiles, first laughs, first inch worm crawl... And now, he is taking his first steps and he prefers playing with his brothers rather than being cuddled...tear. I love that he adores his brothers so much, the other day we put the two older boys in bed and shut their door. I grabbed Levi and got him ready for bed, read him a book, and was cuddling with him....he didn't want that, he was so squirmy. He finally escaped from me and started laughing while he was crawling away fast to the boys bedroom. When he finally got to the hallway, he saw the door was shut and he sat down, put his head down and started to cry.

We were up in Idaho for Levi's birthday and so a week later we had some family over for some birthday cake and ice cream.... before....

after....

Besides playing in the toilet and eating...well, I won't tell that story....he loves to get the toilet paper and make BIG messes!

A few weeks ago Taylor got his first BIG lips. He tripped on some blankets and landed on the edge of his bed. At first the bottom lip was bleeding and then as the night went on his lips got bigger and bigger, it was so sad, it doesn't even look like him. The day after this picture was taken, he was even more bruised and swollen. Now, a couple weeks later, his two front teeth are starting to turn gray. We have a dentist appointment tomorrow, not that they will be able to do anything about it, but I would rather they look at it.

I feel like an awful mom, because deep down inside I was chuckling because he reminded me of the who's on The Grinch.

I have a video of Taylor singing but it isn't working for me... it is one of the funniest, cutest things! He sings as loud as he can the Army of Helaman, you can see his face turning red and the veins popping out of his neck....hilarious!

My oldest is getting way too BIG! Yesterday was his first unofficial first day of school. He just went for about 1 1/2 hours and he did great! He even got a little homework that he came right home and did! He has his testing tomorrow and then his official first day will be Monday the 31st. He seems so grown up in these pictures!

I love being a mom to these BIG boys!!

One last get away

Before the summer ended and school began we wanted to go on one last get away. We have been wanting to go and visit Grandma and Grandpa in Idaho for the longest time, we finally made it up there and we had such a great time!
I was really nervous for the drive because we had to keep three little boys happy for 5 hours...I prepared little bags to give to them every hour, they were filled with treats, toys, magnets, coloring pages, and crayons....in the end they opened one on the way there, made a huge mess, slept and then watched a movie (thank you to Alisa and Jerry for the player!) But really, they did so incredibly well, we were especially pleased with how well Levi did, just give him milk and food and he's happy!!Grandpa put Corbin right to work the next morning, Corbin was so thrilled because he got to use scissors and cut the veggies out of the garden. Grandpa has got the best garden, the produce is so delicious and his tomatoes were HUGE...he is a true farmer. I get discouraged with our garden sometimes (although we are really enjoying it) and Grandpa says he has been doing it for years and it just takes time, he has learned lots over the many years of doing this.

I would have to say the best part of this vacation was Grandma's cooking! Every meal is like Thanksgiving and it is so good. They cook a lot with the food from their garden...we had cucumbers and tomatoes with almost every meal....yum!

FISHING

This is the first time the boys and I have been fishing. I have to admitt that I am not a good fisherwoman...I feel bad for the fish, I feel bad for the worms and grasshoppers; that is probably why I didn't actaully catch any. I did get a few bites, but then they got away. Luckily it was a catch and release pond, although one did die, it was sad watching it float there after seeing it swim around moments before. Errr, I'm such a girl!
Justin caught 5 fish and grandpa caught a bunch! Even the boys each got to reel in some fish!

Corbin is the only one who fishes in his underwear...
...and this is why! While Corbin was waiting for Justin to catch a fish, he got undressed and jumped right in! Poor fish...
Poor worm...

GRANDPA'S FARM

Taylor couldn't be any happier, he still just LOVES horses! I love this picture, it looks like the horse is going in for a kiss.
Happy boy!
Justin told the boys lots of stories of when he worked on the farm with Grandpa, this was always a tricky job...the cow squeeze. It was a little easier getting the boys in it.
Our Sweet Tay.
Handsome Corbs.Little Levi.
Taylor loved this tractor, he kept wanting to run back to it...
In the evenings after we put the boys to bed we got to enjoy playing cards with Grandma and Grandpa, that is our favorite thing to do with them!!

THANKYOU Grandma and Grandpa!! We had a wonderful time!!!

It's good to be back

It has been so long since I have been able to post on my blog!! Our computer wasn't working for a while, but now it is and it feels so good to be back! We have had a lot going on and even more things in the future, but I sure love living it! For those two people who follow the recipe blog, I am dedicating myself to be better at keeping up on it! I love cooking and I want to share recipes that I have found that I think are delish!! Thanks to everyone who comes and visits here, we don't have a lot going on, but I love to post the things that matter most to me!!
