Moab...A Family Tradition

Oh how we love this place! The camping, the red rock, the red sand, the arches, the biking, and the exploring! We take any chance we can go, although this year we weren't really planning on going because we had some other trips planned, but then we got an invite to go and of course we were all over it!! Thank you Irelands and Davis' for making it such a fun trip! We really enjoyed your company and the food was oh so good!!

This is one of my favorite hikes, I love seeing the delicate arch, although I have way too many nerves walking the last part of it next to a huge cliff with three little boys, but every year we survive and it's worth it! The hike is 3 miles total and this year Corbin did awesome at hiking the whole way. It's fun to notice how big the kids have gotten each year we hike this.
Brynlee and Taylor enjoying bananas...thanks Shannon. This was the main reason for going...slickrock! For those of you who have not heard of it, it is pretty intense riding that takes a lot of technical skill, which Justin is VERY good at! He had a blast!!We hung out at this park while they were riding, it was very relaxing for us. Here is Justin riding back from the trail.
We also went to this huge sand hill while they were riding. Corbin and Jacob are the two dots heading up the hill.

There they are almost to the top. Corbin stopped at the rock and thinking he was to the top, he turned around and ran!!! I tried going up the hill and only made it a 1/4 of they way.
Shannon's sister brought their dog, Maddie. For some reason Corbin has always been scared of dogs, but he eventually did pet Maddie. Taylor is a little nervous around dogs, but he is more willing to get closer and pet them. Well, we found out this past weekend that Levi is terrified! It started with Levi just sitting on the grass and Maddie came right up to him to try and lick Levi and Levi just screamed with terror. Ever since then he would just look at the dog from several feet away and just scream. It was sad and funny at the same time.
One thing Levi did love was the chicken!! After we had eaten, I was holding Levi and clearing some things off the table, I looked down and this is what I saw! I didn't even see him grab at it...I guess we have another meat lover in the family!
Corbin was so happy that the Irelands and Davis' brought the marshmallows because we forgot them!
This pretty much sums up our trip...dirt all over and totally happy!!

The Holmgren Farm

We had a fun family reunion in honor of my Grandpa Holmgren, this month would have been his 100th birthday. It was so fun to see my Aunts, Uncles, and cousins that I hadn't seen in quite a while. I have some good memories of this place. This is where my mom grew up. I know I had a great childhood, but my mom had a fairy tale childhood! I don't think she spent many hours inside. She has a deep love of horses that started when she was at least 3 years old. I love seeing the pictures of her when she was a little girl on horses, I hope someday I can have a girl that looks just like her! That love of horses has been passed on to my boys, especially Taylor! We all had so much fun at the farm and the kids were able to have a glipse of what Grandma lived like growing up.

Sitting on top of the tractor
This was the real attraction for a lot of the kids, Corbin especially loved swinging up really high.
Big Justin and Little Justin pulling the kids up.
The next attraction was the paddle boat. I love this pond, it is so beautiful. Who would have thought that such messy faces could be so adorable!!! What cute buddies!

Today, 6 years ago..

...this was happening to us!! What a wonderful day. Yes, it was full of rain and unfortunately I wasn't able to have the backyard reception I always wanted, but it still turned out to be the most perfect day...I got to marry Justin! Thanks for 6 wonderful years, I have become a much better person because of you..I love you!!

Does anyone looked shocked?? Happy Anniversary Justin!!!

I love to see the temple

We had a lovely day at temple square. The weather was perfect, the grass was green, and the flowers were absolutely beautiful! We thought it would be fun to take the boys to the temple where we were married 6 years ago, we were all so excited to be there!

How lucky am I to be sealed to this family!!

Kids are growing up so much

I sometimes just can't believe how fast these boys are growing up and how much they are learning!

Last night we were doing family scripture reading and we read about choosing Christ or choosing Satan, so Justin was talking to the boys a little more about it, telling them that Satan can come right in our home and whisper in our ears bad things to do, in order to get him out you need to do good things (sing a primary song, say an article of faith, etc...) Justin then asked Corbin, what will you do if Satan whispers in your ear something bad to do. Corbin said, "I will punch him right in the face!!" After laughing, Justin said you can't do that because he doesn't have a body. So Corbin said he will just cover his ears.... kids are so simple! Taylor told us at the dinner table on Sunday that he was going on a mission. We were kind of surprised, but of course happy! We asked him where he wanted to go and he told us California...(I didn't even know he knew it was a place)
Poor Levi has been pretty sad lately, after a couple weeks of pain and crying, he has had his four top teeth break in all at once. I was just happy to see there was a reason, but I felt so bad for him.
Stickers all over Levi's head...What will the boys do next???

26 Years Old

I am finally 26 years old, it's hard to believe that I am in the second half of my 20s. But then again, I have been married for 6 years and I do have 3 kids, but still...
It was such a great couple of days! It started off perfectly to have my sister and some of my sister-in-laws come over! I was laughing so hard, talking about kids (Jessie, I still just randomly laugh out loud when I think of Mitchell telling Johnny to not cry and gives him the toy back!), talking about Twighlight (Mandi gave the perfect impression of Edward when Bella walks into the classroom for the first time and of Bella sniffing her hair!!), and having such delicious food. Cami makes the yummiest, simpliest food that is so good!! I just love my family so much and I love that there are so many cousins for my kids to play with! Thanks so much to everyone for coming and I missed everyone who wasn't there!!

I also have to say thanks to my great friends in the ward! I love getting together with them! Jen...thankyou!!

Friday night, Justin and I got to go out on a date. It was so much fun! We went to the Rio Grande at the Gateway and the food was so delicious (thanks Jen and Dom for the suggestion). Afterwards we walked around Temple Square and just enjoyed talking and looking at the Temple. What a fun date, thanks Justin!! (Also, thanks to Alayna and Jeff for watching the boys)

Yesterday, we had a family dinner with the Morris family to celebrate my birthday and Easter, it was so much fun! I love having my birthday right around easter!

Here are 26 things you may or may not know about me!

1) I used to love the color red and now I love the color green (you can tell that if you have been in my home)

2) The best time to read my scriptures is right when I am waking up, and they have to always be on my nightstand, otherwise, saddly, I have a hard time getting to it. The days I forget, I am not as good of a mom.

3) One of my favorite past times is dejunking. Oh, I find so much satsifaction!

4) My favorite way to get exercise is to play frisbee.

5) The first few times I played frisbee with Justin, I did not like it!

6) In the 6 years I have been playing, I have gone through 3 pairs of cleats.

7) Saddly, I am still wearing the same running shoes my mom bought me the Christmas before I was married! Yeah, it's time for new running shoes! I had the worst shin splits the other day!

8)If I had time to myself, I would choose to scrapbook, look on the computer for good ideas, or go to the library.

9)I love having a bowl of rice cereal anytime of the day. (Brown rice, milk, craisins, a little sugar, and cinnamon)

10) The only shows I watch on a somewhat regular basis are Little House on the Prairie and The Biggest Loser.

11) I really enjoy listening to Glenn Beck. I think he is very knowledgeable and hilarious!

12) Justin always teases me that I love listening to commercials (talk radio) and not music. I used to know so many songs from the radio, now I hardly know who the artists are.

13) I love to bake when I am bored.

14) I love going rollarblading or bike riding with my family!

15) I think minivans are the most family friendly vehicles. It drives me crazy when people are so prideful and think they are the worst cars. (It drives me more crazy, because I used to think that, too!) I say, you can't make fun of it until you have tried it!

16) I want to be a Dietition when I grow up.

17) I think a good way to stay healthy is to eat pretty healthy (vegetables, whole grains, fruit) and exercise regularly, but you also have to enjoy treats or someday you will go crazy and just binge!!

18) Justin and I usually go to bed at the same time (between 10 - 11) I used to be really bad at going to bed later, but I am finding it nicer to wake up ealier.

19) Some days I am really particular about how things should go and be, and other days I just say who cares!!

20) I think way too much about scary movies - especially in the middle of the night (fyi - The Sixth Sense and The Ring)

21) I used to not like tomatoes and now I love them! I remember trying them on a Famous Star hamburger and thought they were pretty good!

22) I love books and not just any books, kid books! One of my favorite things to do with my kids is to sit back and read with them.

23) I used to think that to be a successful mom you needed to teach them their ABCs and teach them to use the potty. So far, so good!!

24) Every year for the last 4 years we have been going to Bear Lake, I can't believe this year there will be 5 of us going!

25) Justin and I make a great parenting team. Whenever Justin is frustrated with the boys, I can handle them, whenever I am frustrated, Justin is right there playing with them and talking with them. I am so glad that we never are upset with them at the same time.

26) Just the other day, Justin and I realized that we have been reading the scriptures and saying prayers as a family almost every single night for over a year...we finally made it a habit!!
