park city getaway

Friday night we went to Park City for an overnighter that Justin's sister invited us to. Before leaving we stopped at daddy's work for the annual trick or treating. They sure know how to make our kids day there. Of course, any place the kids get handed candy left and right is a good place for them, but this place had a fun atmosphere!

Then we headed east and enjoyed some fresh mountain air, gorgeous scenery, swam in a heated pool at night (but the hot tub was preferred), roasted marshmallows, and watched Hocus Pocus at 10 oclock at night.

Safe to say the kids were in heaven. They thought the little hotel house was the greatest place on earth! The boys all slept really well. Adeline on the other hand. I think we both slept better when she was a newborn.

In the morning, we explored the mountains around us. We found a patch of golf turf and everyone was having a blast racing back and forth seeing who could run the fastest. Then we laughed while we rolled down the hill. Watching Adeline was pretty much my favorite She pretty much just scooted down the hill, but she sure tried her hardest to roll.

After our little getaway, it felt so good to get home. We worked on our basement fireplace and got the house in pretty good shape. Nothing like a getaway to bring back some motivation.

This girl is so loved and absolutely perfect for our family. Her brothers are obsessed with her. I love seeing how excited they get about their nightly ritual of hugs and kisses from their sister. Every school morning she stands at the top of the garage stairs and waves to her brothers "bye Din, bye Taya, bye Deedye" and then goes on to blow them lots and lots of kisses. She obviously loves them too.

Adeline loves all things girly. She has been obsessed with Moana since earlier this year. ♥ She and I will dance in the kitchen and loudly sing "no one knoooooows, how far it gooooooes". It's one of my favorites. But we are starting to notice that huge love of Moana is slowly fading and she's realizing there are other princesses. She mostly knows about them from books. (love!) But I guess she and I need to have some Disney princess marathons.

Adeline loves books and she has to have at least three when she goes to bed at night. I think that's the key of why she goes to bed so well. We have a pretty good night routine. Obviously it starts with hugs and kisses from brothers and daddy, then we sit down on the floor and read a book, once we're done with the book she folds her arms and we pray, then she grabs her handful of books and stands at her crib waiting for me to put her in. :) I love her!

Whenever she wants food, she opens the kid drawer and pulls out every colored plate until she finds the purple one, then hands it to me to get some food for her. Sometimes she'll go for pink, but nine out of ten times it's purple.

But I have to say one of my favorites is seeing her and Rudger play trains. She loves trains and cars! And it makes me happy to see that she is very well-rounded.

I really could not have hand picked a better daughter. I think Heavenly Father knew exactly who we needed. ♥♥♥

Happy second birthday Adeline!

fall break 2017

For fall break we were invited to go to St. George with some friends. But then Justin got a cold a few days before and the idea of driving for five hours did not sound fun to him. I don't know why?? :) Then Corbin broke his arm and that pretty much confirmed our decision to not go. Originally we had planned on doing a staycation (the kids favorite) so we went back to our plan A.

On our 'Fall Live List' we decided that a corn maze was a must this year. The last time I went was fourteen years ago...it was haunted...there was a section that included a scene from The Ring...I freaked out and I hadn't been back to a corn maze since. This time we kept it fun and sweet with no freaky girl crawling out of a well.*shudder*

The little farm we went to was adorable! There was a zipline and slide that the kids LOVED! The actual corn maze was fun and adventurous, but towards the end some of the kids were ready to get OUT and head back to the slide. There was also some pretty cute displays set up. One included a typewriter and the kids thought it was the greatest invention ever :)

We also headed to Lagoon for Frightmares. We had gone a couple of weeks before and it was packed, like worse than Disneyland packed. We left after 15 minutes. This day was MUCH better. There were leaves everywhere and the air had a slight chill. It was a pretty perfect fall day ♥♥♥

We also went out to eat at a sit down restaurant, which is a rare treat. Justin and I were craving Mexican, the boys were begging for Chick-fil-a, Wendy's, or In-and-Out. We won and boy did they love the food.

We spent Saturday working on projects. Downstairs fireplace!! And Sunday was a beautiful fall day. The only request for Sunday was to have chocolate chocolate chip muffins. It was the perfect ending to our long weekend. I just love fall break! ♥♥
