two

We cannot get over the fact that our baby is two. Two years we have had him light up our home. I know, totally annoying when people say how perfect their children are, but really Rudger, for the most part has been a really good baby.
^^this is Rudger's patent stare^^

On his birthday, we sang to him and told him he was two. Then he held out all five fingers and said "I'm two". Then we spent the rest of the day opening wrapped candy with cute sayings from the brothers, playing at the park in the rain, playing with balloons, and doing his most favorite things. Which include: running on the treadmill, jumping on the trampoline, playing with the brothers, playing in the sandbox, and taking baths. And clothes were optional.

Happy birthday Rugger.

six

Six great years it has been with this boy of ours. He loves minecraft and legos and pictures covering his wall in his bedroom. He chooses to sleep in his clothes rather than pajamas and he tries to wear regular clothes underneath his church clothes, so that he can save that extra step the minute we are home from church. His blanket is still his favorite. He gets his chores, reading, and math facts done as fast as he can so that he can play minecraft.

^^ A Steve cake (minecraft). Candybar poster from brothers. ^^
We know for a fact that our family would not be the same without you. We love your spunky attitude!

this week

This week we got a little closer to finishing the table grandpa and grandma gave us.
This week we had to say goodbye to good friends who are moving several states away. We had a farewell cake and the kids flooded the sandbox.
This week I started a couple of projects that I have been wanting to do for ages. "Instagram" photos for the wall and I found those blue tall stools for five dollars a piece at the DI, they almost match the island, but not what I was going for.
This week the weather has been much more pleasant for playing outside.
This week I tried to spruce up the house a little. I rearranged Justin's office while he was at work. (and he didn't hate it when he got home). I bought a blanket to cuddle up with since fall is just around the corner. Wahoo.
This week we ate our first fish that Justin caught, trout isn't bad. And Levi is wise beyond his years.

nature is the best playground

Saturday we spent the day playing in the Uintas. That place is beautiful.

The boys couldn't have been any happier that we got to spend it with cousins, the dads got to fish and enjoy nature, and I got to enjoy time with my sister. Perfection right there.

Oh these two. I love how much they adore each other and Rudger is always in very good hands when this girl is around.

We found this pond full of lily pads. Our most favorite spot. The kids could have spent hours searching for adorable, teeny frogs.

Getting away from electronics, phones, mundane tasks and just spending time in nature is so good for the soul. There is less fighting, more connecting, and more peace. Heavenly Father knew what He was doing.

Plus, who doesn't love to stop and get a hamburger and shake at the end of the day?

egg drop

The boys had their boy scout egg drop recently. Luckily Corbin had one with all the 4th graders last year, so he knew what design would work. They cut up a pool noodle and left our house with lots of confidence. (do you notice Corbin's shirt)
Those firemen were up way high and Justin was having his doubts that any egg would survive. The outcome. Zero cracks in both eggs.

They were both quite thrilled!
