just shy of 23 months

Oh this kid, he has us all completely in love with him. I love this age (in fact I have loved this age with all of our children) I guess it's seeing how much they are growing and learning in their little world in their own little way.

Rudger loves choo-choos and caers (cars). He has, HAS to be outside when his brothers are. He loves his new ons (shoes on). He likes to find people's eyes, airs, mouws, and nose. He is becoming a parrot (which isn't helpful when occasionally there is some bathroom talk around here). Any time his shirt is being taken off, he assumes it is time for a bath, his most favorite thing ever. (if only you could see the way his tongue moves when he says bath...picture his tongue sticking out the whole time he says it). Anything that turns on is naturally called On. (vacuum, lawn mower, blender, daddy's drills) He hates Ons...except for the drills. When he wants to help me with something he says "Help me" and sometimes with a whine saying it over and over. He has some pretty good hops...on the trampoline and on his bed. He still signs for milk and says neeoww when he wants his milk, and he won't really drink it unless it is warmed up 30 seconds.

Seriously. We love this kid.

the fourth weekend

America is pretty great. And so was our weekend. 

We had a flag ceremony with our cute neighbors. (check out the Christmas in July jammies our oldest is wearing)

The temperature was starting to soar, so we stopped to cool ourselves down while Corbin and Daddy loaded the canoe. Then it was off to the lake.

The next day was the Kaysville Parade, lunch at Betos with Mandi and Jon, and then fireworks that night with cousins where the sunset was beautiful and we didn't have any crowds. 

Saturday we headed to the mountains for a family reunion. Breakfast, visiting, and traditional lemon custard ice cream. 

That afternoon we attended the baptism of our sweet neighbor, and then a neighborhood fireworks show that night.

our summer so far

This is our summer list. We have pulled two things off of it in the one month that we have been off of school. No worries, we have had plenty of fun (aka: lazy summer days), AND we have lots to do in the coming two months. I know that Justin is so excited as I ramble off all the great things we (I) have planned... 

Just to know... we've had homemade cookies on the back patio, played games, watched birds build a nest above our front door (again), enjoyed sun-ripened strawberries, trying our hardest to get reading in, made moon sand, gone on nature walks, watched plenty of t.v., bought sugar cereal, gone on bike rides, and spent lots of time in our garden enjoying the produce.
